Sorry for the downtime today.
It's been a shite day, topped off by getting home after feeling ill all day and working late only to find that I'd left my door key on my desk at work and Jane's gone to Manchester. And yes, I did miss the next tram back into town. Once I'd retrieved my key, obviously the tram I got home broke down. And the weather's crap. And I didn't have beer in the fridge. And there's a hole in my trouser pocket. And I got a thorn blown into my eye at lunchtime that made it seem that I'd gone into Boots just to have a cry at the girl behind the counter. And it took me too long to work out the cause of today's downtime was that my enterprise-level (not-really) router crashed (second time ever). For the girls, that means that all the little green lights just stayed on rather than two of them flashing in a cool way.

One tram broken down in rush hour causes a bit of a tram-jam. That's one broken down and two behind it. There was a further one a couple of hundred metres back too!

Ok. The subway near work has had some work carried out. One thing puzzles me though - what is this groove?
It is not a gutter, it is too steep and close to the game rail for bikes to use and it has bumpy paving at the top and bottom. Any ideas?
