I'm pleased it's the weekend. I was looking forward to it. Sadly, I'm now a bit shaken up.
I bike to work and back whenever I can. Today was such a day. I left work and set off on my usual route home. Which includes Angel Street - scene of a very nasty accident recently where an old lady stepped out in front of a bus. Also scene of a near accident a few weeks back where some scrubber stepped out in front of me and my bike.
Tonight, it got worse. I was peddling along at about 8mph (which isn't all that fast) and some girl decided to cross the road. She shoved her pushchair into the road without even looking. I skidded right into it. She could have killed her child. And almost certainly would have done if I had been on a motorbike of if a bus had been coming. She didn't even look! She (and her friend) then decided this was all my fault and started to shout and swear at me. I couldn't believe it.
She was going crazy. I was pretty angry too. I decided not to hang around and went on my way.
If you know this girl, please ask her to look before she shoves her child into a road.
To be fair mate, you are a riding a bike! If you don't pay road tax you have no right to be on the road! ;-)
