I thought this was quite fun. Have a look what is actually on the other side of the world from any location. You may be disappointed mind.
1) If it is near freezing outside the pub in Crookes, when you attempt to cycle down the hill to Hillsborough, your brake handles will be beyond cold. And you'll be holding them A LOT. As no effort is being made in turning the pedals, your thoughts are soley centred on how cold your fingers are. Oh yes. Remember this as our unusually clement winter turns to shit.
2) A packet of pickled onion Monster Munch that has obviously had a hole in the packet for some time (and are thus soft and chewy) is better that no Monster Munch at all when you return from the pub. Remember that one kids.

I've bought a bike. Before I've had a chance to tell you all about it, Christian has published a picture of me in my biking trousers here. Personally I think I look rather dashing.
That's not actually me and my bike, but Street Hawk (which you may or may not recall as the Knight-Rider-on-a-bike-really-didn't-work-too-well eighties TV show.
I'll take some real pictures later.
Reason for buying a bike? Chris, Jane and I are cycling from Lincoln to Cromer at Easter. I'm not sure it's such a good idea. Details to follow.

Website back up again. Hooray! It's taken a while - problem was due to me trying to host the site at home and re-encountering some FTP issues I'd got round a while ago (but since forgotten). Then, the other night I found that Blogger will now handle the relevant bits of DNS to allow custom domain names to be used for their blogs (instructions here). A bit of tweaking later, and the site is republished on the right URL. Still some fiddling to do with various links and stuff, but by and large, getting there.
Most annoyingly though is that once I got it working I set about tidying up my DNS records with the registrar and I think found why I was having problems FTP-ing to home. Hey ho.
Now for all the fun postings! Future postings should include pictures from New Year and details of the planned Lincoln to Cromer bike ride...
