Jane's 30th

Monday, April 30, 2007

Jane was 30 on Saturday. She had a punk fancy dress party. I made the mistake of having rather too much to drink and so Sunday was a write-off - I blame Christian for pouring me a very large Balvenie towards the end of the evening. Here's Jane looking punky:

Lisa and Jane

Special thanks to Victoria for making a lovely punk cake for Jane - I will be having a leftover slice with my lunch. Yum!
As Sunday was always going to be a sofa/tidying-up day, I've booked today off work to actually have a bit of a relax. However, I think I'm still going to be doing quite a lot of cleaning in to the afternoon. Or I might go to the dogs, who knows.
Chris has his pictures of the evening here and the ones I was sober enough to take are here.
Incidentally, I may have found something even better than Lucozade HydroActive Citrus Fruits for a hangover. It's to be found next to the HydroActive in Tesco and I recommend getting yourself some of these bad boys stocked ready in your fridge for the next time you have a hangover - http://www.headstartdrinks.com. Don't expect them to taste too much like anything other than what they are (sugar and salt), but it really did help me out yesterday. And it's scientifically proven don't you know. They are marketing geniuses - especially to get in-store placement next to the 'athletic' drinks rather than the medicinal aisle.

Update - Christian's photos are now online here, as are Parners here.

Cromer 2

Have just realised I haven't done a post since we were on our way to Cromer. I can recommend cycling in Norfolk, just pick days with good weather! And keep the distances realistic - we seemed to do OK on both counts.

We had a good week, we caught crabs (phnarr, phnarr), went on a boat, went on a steam train and ate/drank quite a lot. I was also able to demonstrate my superior Monopoly skills.
I felt thoroughly relaxed and refreshed at the end of the week.
My pictures are here and Chris' are here.

After 146 miles we made it last night! Very pleased now.

Jim and Charlotte have found us a lovely place to stay and this is the scary cliff in the garden.

Day one complete

We made it! We left Lincoln yesterday morning and arrived at the Boston Comfort Inn at about 16:00. This included miles of beautiful countryside and several pit stops.

One thing we didn't count on was good weather - jane and chris have very very very red tops of forearms. Nowhere else.

On to day 2 now - we're off to king's lynn in a mo.
